The Beacon Motor Coach Services 18th Jan 1929

During the 1930's a man named Thomas Atkinson launched a motor coach service at Crowborough with an express daily service to London and the fare for an adult was 25 pence return! Mr. Atkinson's luxury coaches served the community very well indeed and the enterprise was a great success.

The picture below shows members of the Crowborough Social Club on a trip in one of Beacon Motor Coach Services to Southsea on 30th July 1939.
